The places where we look for worth are often the places where we feel inadequate, unappreciated, or unnoticed. We are convinced that if we can just “get it together” then we will be happy. — ... The truth is, our worth isn’t defined by our circumstances or what other people think of us. When we focus on that, we face disappointment and heartache because it will never be “good enough.” ... But when our eyes are fixed on God, we get to hear the truths of who we really are: we are loved, called child, fearfully and wonderfully made, and referred to as beloved. And He reminds us that our circumstances don’t have hold on us and we can experience freedom and joy right now! ... So if you’re feeling down today, I hope you hear that you are seen and fully loved.♥️ And just because we may not “have it together” in the areas of our lives that we would like to, doesn’t mean we are hopeless or a lost cause. You and I are so much more. May you experience this beautiful love today and always!💖 ... This year is a big one for us as we head towards multiple milestones: 5 years of marriage in June, turning 30 in October, and the 2-year cancer free mark in December that will significantly reduce my risk of recurrence and decrease my my number of follow ups per year. — ... When I think of all those things and how much I want to make it to each milestone, I’m repeatedly brought back to the words we said to one another at our vow renewal. Love that says “then, now, and for the rest of our lives.” Faith that conquered and will always conquer fear. Hope that knows no bounds. And my hands clenched tight with the things I want slowly begin to open in surrender to whatever God has for my life. ... We aren’t guaranteed to celebrate the days ahead or results of clean scans in the future. But we do have today. I don’t have to look ahead anxiously (Matthew 6:34) or wait to celebrate because I can be present right now, today. There are blessings right in front of us and I just don’t want to miss them or take any of them for granted! ... So I joyfully say: Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Weston! I celebrate my life and love for you today like it’s the last day I have! I don’t have to know what the future holds because I know Who holds my future! My heart is yours and I will love you with everything I am until I take my last breath!😘♥️🥰 ... “Cancer free” does not mean what I thought it would... ... Although I show no evidence of disease (NED) in my body at this time, cancer has not ceased to continue being a significant and important part of my everyday life. ... Ever since I heard the words, “You have cancer,” it has become part of my heartbeat. ... My heart’s desire is to relate with others, encourage, spread hope, bring joy and laughter, and be a listening ear and prayer warrior for those affected by this terrible disease. ... For the fighter out there, I’m fighting by your side. For the survivor, I understand that it presents its own unique challenges and know that you’re seen. For the one who has lost someone, my heart grieves and I hope to bring a voice of love and warmth to your life as you are in my prayers. And all of you who are so kind to support, pray, and are part of my journey, I want nothing more than to thank you through loving God, loving others, and living life to the fullest! I am overwhelmed with gratitude. ... I am so thankful to be cancer free. So now instead of “You have cancer,” my words are now: ... “You have a voice, heart, passion, and calling to love those affected by cancer.” ... And I will never stop fighting for and alongside you! — ... #cancerfree #cancerfreeworld #fighter #passion #thevoice #su2c #standuptocancer #disneyfan #disneyworld #magickingdom #crown #coach #princess #loveothers #lovegodlovepeople
It took almost dying to really start living, but the love and laughter that has blossomed over this last year and a half has made us feel more alive than we have ever felt. ... We learned SO MANY THINGS through cancer, but one of them was that life is precious. Being diagnosed with cancer at age 27 and planning my funeral at age 28 helped me understand that every day is truly a gift. And I want to treat each day like that! ... May your days be filled with meaningful conversations, uncontrollable laughter, loving and serving those in need, gratitude overflowing, and unshaken hope for the future! ...
